There are many ways to get a great education, and not all of them require that you attend a brand-name institution.  Here's a post from Will Dix at Forbes that suggests five strategies for uncovering opportunities at well-regarded but lesser known institutions that can provide you an excellent education at an affordable price.

Georgetown University admitted 931 restrictive early action applicants to the Class of 2021.  

A total of 7,822 early action applications were received this year, up 11 percent, resulting in an early admission rate of 12 percent.

Johns Hopkins admitted 591 applicants to the Class of 2021 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants remained relatively steady at 1,934, resulting in an early admission rate of 31 percent.

Yale admitted 871 applicants to the Class of 2021 under Single Choice Early Action.

5,086 applications were received, resulting in an early admission rate of 17.1 percent.  53 percent of applicants were deferred, 28 percent were denied, and 2 percent were withdrawn or incomplete.

Princeton University admitted 770 single choice early action applicants to the Class of 2021.  

Applications grew 18.3 percent to 5,003, resulting in an early admission rate of 15.4 percent.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology admitted 657 early action applicants to the Class of 2021.  

A total of 8,394 applications were submitted this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 7.8 percent.  

5,853 applicants were deferred, 1,717 were denied, and the remaining 167 were withdrawn or incomplete.

Duke admitted 861 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants grew 2 percent to 3,516 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 24.5 percent.

Early decision admits will comprise 50 percent of this year's class, up from 48 percent last year.

Dartmouth accepted 555 applicants to the Class of 2021 under early decision.  

The total number of early admission applicants grew to 1,999 this year, up 3.7 percent.  This resulted in an early admission rate of 28 percent.

Dartmouth anticipates these early admits will account for 47 percent of this year's class.

Brown accepted 695 applicants to the Class of 2021 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants was 3,170 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 22%.

Cornell accepted 25.6 percent of applicants to the Class of 2021 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants grew 10 percent to 5,384.

Legacy students made up 23.3 percent of early admits and athletes made up 13.4 percent.

Barnard announced a 19 percent increase in early decision applicants for Class of 2021.  

Overall, 934 applications were received for the year compared to 787 for the Class of 2020.

Harvard announced earlier today that it admitted 938 applicants to the Class of 2021 under restrictive early action.  

With the total pool of early applicants up 4.5 percent from the previous year, the early admission rate fell slightly to 14.5 percent compared to 16.5 percent for the Class of 2020.

Wesleyan University announced it received 742 early decision I applications for the Class of 2021, up more than 16 percent from the previous year. Actual admission results were not provided.

Early decision applications grew 25 percent from the previous year to 728, resulting in an early admission rate of 35%.
